The 6,000 mm wheelbase has been carefully selected for commuter applications, allowing an extended front overhang that accommodates a standard-sized passenger entry door ahead of the left front wheel. Powering the MVR is Isuzu’s trusted 7.79-litre 6HK1 TCS inline six-cylinder diesel engine. Paired with a six-speed Eaton manual transmission, the drivetrain is tuned for efficiency, durability, and predictable power delivery across urban and intercity routes.
Supporting this performance is a full air foundation braking system, complemented by an exhaust brake and a magnetic retarder mounted to the rear of the transmission. This setup enhances braking confidence, improves safety, and reduces brake wear, all of which contribute to lower operating costs over the vehicle’s lifecycle.
DESIGNED AROUND REAL-WORLD OPERATION
With a higher stance than truck-based chassis, the MVR offers improved approach and departure angles, making it well-suited to both urban environments and rougher rural routes. The forward and lower engine placement frees up interior floor space, enabling the bus to comfortably accommodate up to 66 seated passengers, seven standing passengers, plus the driver.
Industry standard 315/80R22.5 tyres on 9” wheels ensure easy sourcing and compatibility, while a 400-litre fuel tank supports longer operating cycles between refuelling. LED headlamps and tail lamps, automatic headlights, and ABS braking are all standard, reinforcing Isuzu’s focus on safety and durability.
Optional features such as air conditioning, USB charging ports, and a sound system allow operators to configure the MVR to suit specific commuter requirements and service expectations.
