The Maserati MCPURA, while a new name, represents a continuation of Maserati’s performance-focused heritage, drawing heavily on the brand’s history of innovation and racing pedigree. It embodies the spirit of Modena, where it is crafted, and features the Nettuno engine, also found in the MC20, it’s direct predecessor.
Building upon Maserati’s racing legacy, the MCPURA represents the Italian brand’s vision to regain top position in both performance and heritage, revived with the visceral MC12 in 2004, while the name plays on Modena’s ethos of “Pure Coupe Energy” – a philosophy hailing back nearly seven decades to the 1957 Maserati 3500 GT.
The 3500 GT represents a turning point in the marque’s history, as it was the first ground-up grand tourer design with a road-going engine and the first series-produced car from Maserati. Launched as a 2+2 coupé, it was soon followed by a Spyder open-top version, and from there its lineage evolved into the present-day GranTurismo and GranCabrio models.

The “pure coupe energy” as embodied by the 3500 GT of yesteryear and the MC12 and MC20, lives on in the design philosophy of the MCPURA, focused on delivering a pure driving experience, aiming to deliver a visceral driving experience with precision engineering and dynamic agility.
