READY FOR ADVENTURE

JETOUR T-SERIES MAKES ITS SOUTH AFRICAN DEBUT

Rugged, versatile, and unapologetically adventurous, the Jetour T-Series has landed in South Africa. More than just a new SUV line, it promises a lifestyle of exploration and comfort.

The official launch of the Jetour T1 and T2 took place late last month at Cape Town’s Grand Parade, a showcase of everything Jetour stands for: style, innovation, and journeys that leave a lasting impression.

Media, dealer partners, and key stakeholders gathered to meet the stars of the evening: the T1 and T2. Both models will be on sale from mid-November at more than 55 dealerships nationwide. Already a hit in global markets, the T-Series is staking its claim in the local SUV segment, combining performance, comfort, and design under Jetour’s ‘Travel+’ philosophy.

Jetour International President Ke Chuandeng, Alderman James Vos, and Clayton Monyela, Deputy Director-General at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, delivered keynote addresses. Nic Campbell, Jetour South Africa Vice President, walked guests through the models, while Managing Director Luo Yuanran unveiled pricing.

“Since entering South Africa last year, anticipation for the T-Series has been huge. Launching the T1 and T2 together is a bold statement. These SUVs deliver exactly what buyers are asking for: accessible luxury, striking design, premium features, and the reassurance of reliable parts and service,” said Campbell.

JETOUR T1

Compact, Capable, Connected

The T1 is a city SUV with capabilities that extend well beyond urban streets. Four variants cater to different lifestyles: 1.5TD 2WD Edge, 1.5TD 2WD Aspire, 2.0TD 4WD Xplora, and the flagship 2.0TD 4WD Odyssey.

Technology is abundant. Standard features include a 540° panoramic camera system, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and full LED lighting, including fog lights and automatic headlights. Practical touches such as heated mirrors, roof racks, and privacy glass add convenience and style.

Engine options include a 1.5TD producing 125 kW and a 2.0TD delivering 180 kW, both paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Xplora and Odyssey variants feature intelligent XWD 4WD, high ground clearance, and eight drive modes – Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, and X-Mode – offering real-world versatility.

Inside, the T1 blends tech with comfort: a 15.6” infotainment screen on the Xplora and Odyssey, dual-layer soundproof glass, ergonomically shaped seats, and flexible storage create a cabin as refined as it is functional. The Odyssey adds a Sony 9-speaker surround system for an immersive audio experience.

Pricing: Edge R514,900, Aspire R544,900, Xplora R594,900, Odyssey R634,900.

JETOUR T2

Rugged Meets Versatile

The T2 builds on the T1’s foundation, adding off-road readiness without compromising comfort. Three variants are available: 1.5TD 2WD Aspire (125 kW / 270 Nm) and two 2.0TD 4WD models – Xplora and Odyssey (both 180 kW / 375 Nm). The Odyssey offers generous dimensions (4,785 x 2,006 x 1,880 mm), ideal for family adventures. Colour choices include Onyx Black, Glacier White, Aqua Green, and Lunar Silver.

Safety and convenience are standard: 540° panoramic cameras, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and full LED lighting. Practical touches include heated mirrors, roof racks, privacy glass, illuminated door sills, and a space-saver spare wheel on the Aspire.

Pricing: Aspire R569,900, Xplora R639,900, Odyssey R679,900.

LAUNCH HIGHLIGHTS

The launch celebrated the first South African T-Series owners, who received symbolic keys and replica scale models. Jetour also formalised its three-year vehicle sponsorship of the unbeaten DHL Stormers, marked by a ceremonial exchange of gifts and memorabilia.

On a global scale, Jetour will provide 70 T-Series SUVs for the upcoming G20 Summit in Johannesburg – a gathering of the world’s 20 largest economies – celebrated with a ceremonial protea lighting.

Entertainment rounded off the evening with performances by electronic trio GoodLuck, trumpeter Mo-T, and DJ Vin Deyzel.

Since entering South Africa in September 2024 with the 5-seater Jetour Dashing and 7-seater X70 Plus, the brand has made impressive strides, securing 12th place in national passenger car sales within a year. Rapid growth is supported by a strong dealer network, readily available parts, and industry recognition, including Gold Status in the 2025 NADA Dealer Satisfaction Index – a clear reflection of Jetour’s focus on support and service.

LAST WORD

The Jetour T-Series lands as a credible alternative in South Africa’s SUV market. The T1 is perfectly suited for city life while offering the versatility to explore further. The T2 adds ruggedness without compromising interior comfort, making it an appealing choice for both weekend warriors and families. Both models combine style, technology, and practicality, underpinned by a brand that has already proven its ability to deliver on service and reliability.
